I am opposed to assessing possibilities for oil and gas resource development. Why consider fracking again when that have been vociferously campaigned against and rejected fairly recently? Environmental concerns have increased, climate chnge is advancing, and we are wasting time, money and effort that could be much more fruitfully spent on developing sustainable energy sources such as solar and wind. There are many new options in these technologies that need research, location planning and development. Let's develop expertise in these areas. Please invest in new local companies exploring sustainable energy alternatives that could serve Nova Scotia indefintely and become important economic drivers. Oil and gas development by big corporations have a history of damaging and polluting the environment, and leaving an awful mess. Promising innovations need the support, and sometimes leadership of a government that can think outside the box and look at the big, long term picture. Oil and gas may provide some short term economic bling, but it is not going to serve us for seven+ generations!
